General Info

 

Customarily, a private chef will create and present menus for approval (usually for lunch and dinner each day, and sometimes breakfast), shop for groceries, prepare the meals, and, when no other staff is present, serve and clean up.

 

RAC's chefs excel in everything from soup to dessert, and have a talent for finding the best ingredients and appliances, an eye for tabletop arrangements, and a knack for kitchen management. Our chefs are particularly adept at accommodating your daily schedule and your travel itinerary.

 

RAC places two types of chefs: live-in and live-out. The former receive living quarters (often the equivalent of a small apartment), board, and sometimes the use of a car.

 

Since 2013, we have prided ourselves on creating unique and unforgettable events, for thousands of clients across the country. Rent-A-Chef are more than just eating a meal – they are about creating memories to last a lifetime.

Our Chefs

Our Chefs are personable and respectful of going into a Client’s home. They are professionally, trained & very experienced Chefs; in restaurants, there is typically a crew of line-cooks who do the cooking, and who are overseen by a Chef. Each Chef chosen to provide a service for our company has met our standards and minimum requirements.

Insurance

We also cover each event by Liability Insurance should something go wrong. Many Chefs & Caterers provide similar services to ours, without any liability coverage, putting you and your home at risk.

Custom Menus

Our Chefs will create a menu just for you after they have had a discussion with you. They also customize the recipes to accommodate each client's health concerns (e.g. high blood pressure), dietary restrictions (e.g. allergies), likes and dislikes. Each ingredient is hand-selected by our chefs to ensure quality, on the day of your event, not shipped out in boxes from food terminals. Each event takes hours of planning, before the Chef has even arrived at your home. This is not something that can be done in a restaurant, where cooks are cooking for the masses according to a pre-designed recipes. The most they can do is substitute one ingredient for another, such as carrots instead of broccoli, or rice instead of potatoes.

Comfort & Privacy at Home

With a Rent-A-Chef, the Chef travels to you, bringing his/her own utensils and the fresh ingredients to your home. You decide what time you would like dinner to be served and then relax and enjoy an evening of pampering, with no server rushing around waiting on other patrons. The Chef is there for the evening; they are not rushing off to attend another event. When dining out, clients have to take time to travel to the specific location, pay for parking in many cases, wait for their table and then dine, surrounded by numerous other people. There is no privacy, no intimacy.

Cleanliness

You can also rest assured that your meal is being cooked in a clean kitchen, since it is in your own home! Our Chefs are also instructed to clean up before they leave, so that you are not left with a kitchen full of dishes to clean up afterwards. The evening is set up so that you can sit back, relax and enjoy an evening of pampering in your home – something that most people don’t normally do.

Know Your Chef

Our Rent-A-Chef allow you to meet and interact with the person cooking your meal, making it a more memorable experience. Our Clients are welcome to watch the Chef cooking, ask questions and get tips for future reference, something that you could not do at a typical restaurant. For most Clients, the “experience” is more valuable than the actual meal served.
