Chef Brantley will work with you to develop a menu and a plan for how service will go. This may range from an intimate plated nine course meal for two to a buffet barbeque for 40. We will review what you would like to eat, how you would like service to run (plated, family style or buffet), when and where the meal is to occur, and budget. After all of these factors have been decided, your work is done, and Rent-A-Chef takes it from there. We show up at a predetermined hour the day of, set up and get to work. We stay as long as needed to get your meal on the table and clean up. We don't leave until you have given the kitchen a once-over and have let us know our clean up meets your standards.

The cost of the food is not included in the service cost because each family’s food preferences vary. Shopping is done at Publix and Kroger.

All of our services are completely customizable to fit each family’s needs.

Contact us to discuss which service schedule would be best for your family.

Rent-A-Chef does everything possible to stay within the agreed upon budget. Our chef service starts at $35 an hour, with a 4 hour minimum. Hours billed may include off-premises work and some shopping time depending on the menu. Additional staff persons are $20 each, plus the cost of ingredients. Total event cost will be agreed upon and will not change unless there are adjustments to the menu or service. There will be no additional unforeseen costs. Gratuities are always welcome, but are entirely at the discretion of the host and are outside of the agreed cost.

Each gathering is unique, and our menus are customized accordingly. Dinner parties start at $15 per guest and cocktail party service starts at $10 per guest. Dinner for two starts at $150 per couple for a three course meal. Rent-A-Chef Service does not provide beverage service, but will be glad to refer you to a partnering service.
The cost of food is not included in the prices offered. Prices may vary around holidays.

Plates, Silverware and Equipment
Rent-A-Chef does not provide plates, silverware or equipment for service. We do provide everything we need to do all of the cooking. For smaller events, you probably have everything already, and for larger events, Rent-A-Chef has relationships with various party rental services and can make the necessary arrangements.

We offer three different service options:

1- Plated Meal:

A plated meal is the most formal type of service, this means that each course is arranged onto plates for each individual and served from the kitchen, like what you would expect in a restaurant. For smaller less formal plated meals, the chef can double as server. Larger groups, or more formal service, may warrant bringing a server to assist the chef. In cases where there is a server brought in, they would also take care of drink service both during hors d'oeuvres and during dinner, as well as help with clean up.

2- Family Style:

This is fun for groups of 6 or larger and usually a less formal feel. Here the food is served in larger platters and placed on the table for diners to take and pass, reminiscent of the way Mom usually served dinner. This can be combined with plated courses. For example, soup might be better served plated, with the rest of the meal family style.

3- Buffet:

Buffet is a great option for larger groups, particularly when there is limited table space or seating. All of the food is placed on a buffet table, and guests can peruse at their own pace, taking what they like. This is also a good option for offering a variety of choices when your guests may have different dietary restrictions. The buffet is the easiest option for groups of 15 or more.
